Webcomic Telethon, SUCCESS!

With the help of many many fine webcomic creators, (and a few really terrible looking ones), we were all able to help raise $26,115 (as of 9am east coast time) for the Red Cross.

A giant round of applause for Brad Guigar and Blank Label Comics for hosting such an endeavor. Wow…. the webcomics community actually did something right!
Success!

Now, the day isn’t over yet. So you can still get your butts over to www.webcomictelethon.com and donate something. It’s direct through the redcross website via the buttons on their main page there.

I’m still a little dissapointed that we didn’t help raise over what was raised for some lame comic convention to not go bankrupt… but it was only two days here, imagine if this effort went on for a couple weeks. I’m sure we could easily raise 100,000 for the relief effort. But if all this ends today, there’s more to do. I think after this intial push, I’m really going to support Habitat for Humanity, who’ll be helping rebuild houses for those who lost absolutely everything they had. So much to do… Right now, I’m just a little proud of my colleagues in webcomics. Way to go guys and gals!!!

The amount has gone up to just under $24,000 as of five o’clock West Coast time. I contributed a little to that - very little, I’m afraid.

But it was a terrific telethon, with lots of great comics and creators, and every writer and artist who took part also deserves a hand. Good on you, guy. :)

Well, it was definitely more of a success than the Adult Webcomic Telethon :-P
