Variety’s comic blog reviews HBN #1
Tom McLean of Variety, has a good review of Hero By Night #1 up. See Here.
While I try not to read too much into reviews online because opinions vary greatly, I was looking forward to what Tom thought because he really loves the medium and I consider comic fans like him as a litmus test to if I’ve done something well. I pulled it off! Heh.
He does suggest a moratorium on naming characters or likenesses after Jack Kirby. I kind of agree with that, but in the case of this project I just HAD to do it because the guy is MY hero. I know it is a little campy.
Smells like cigars in here! ![]()

*sigh*
It’s a bit bittersweet to see the success of one project, only to see it usher in the decline of another. I agree that Hero by Night is a superior project, and worhty of more attention. I saw something on the Keenspot website that I guess was either an abortive fix or a mistake.
I saw the first Yirmahmuh strip.
Personnaly, I think you ought to simply re-run the strips on Keenspot, instead of leaving it dead. There is a whole otehr audience that hasn’t seen the highs and lows of your ride to success.
Think about it.
(of course I could be wrong, and yuo already were going to do that and was told no.. If that.. then uh.. oops..)

Holy shit, dude. A Variety review is major. Got a script ready?

A script for what? Another comic book, yeah.
I’ll leave the movie writing stuff to the pros.

Want to start your private office arms race right now?
I just got my own USB rocket launcher
Awsome thing.
Plug into your computer and you got a remote controlled office missile launcher with 360 degrees horizontal and 45 degree vertival rotation with a range of more than 6 meters - which gives you a coverage of 113 square meters round your workplace.
You can get the gadget here: http://tinyurl.com/2qul3c
Check out the video they have on the page.

I’ve got an Amazon gift certificate burning holes in my pocket,
and I want to get the most bang for my buck.
Enter the Secret Amazon Web Pages:
http://tinyurl.com/38sojf
This is where you’re going to find the “latest sales, rebates, and limited-time offers” from
Amazon, and you can score some pretty deep discounts if you’re a savvy shopper.
Next, there’s the special Sale link. This is open every Friday, and ONLY on Fridays.
You can find the same good discounts here as you would in hidden Deals, although some
Fridays you can really get lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit - I’ve seen discounts
there as low as 75% off sticker price.
