Traffic Report!

Well, back during the beginning of the summer, I posted a traffic report– we were averaging about 4000 unique readers a day, 3 months later, we’re pulling an average of 13,339 unique visitors a day for September. I have no idea where everyone came from over this period of time when I wasn’t paying attention, but i just wanted to say, THANKS for reading!

You people have no idea how much that blows my mind. Heck, I was hoping to at least get to 5000 by now…. but above 10k? Never would of thunk it.

If I’m not online as much, it’s because I have a crap-ton of work to do, from Caricatures, to more strips. And with that many people reading now, I feel like I should start taking my work more seriously and not slack off like I did in today’s strip.

That’s Great, Don’t let it go to you head.

  2. DJ Says:

Nah….. We’re still complete peons. And it’s only comics.

  3. Jeege Says:

    Thats awesome man

Is it the trouble-causing rabble-rousing comic-insider douchebaggery you’re often embroiled in? The sinfully hot wendy’s chick and llama action? Maybe it’s just Bob. Or the uke. Maybe it’s not worth knowing. Long live Yirmummah.

Well, what brought me here was your Star Wars theme a while back. From that point I’ve been telling my coworkers and relatives about this site.

Word of mouth is good, yes ?

Every morning, before I start to work :

    www.yirmumah.net
    www.fark.com
    www.slashdot.org
    www.cnn.com

So your humor is what keeps people coming…

    Back to work slave! ;)

  7. Jon Says:

    Indentured programmer, yeah.

My boss and another coworker just quit too. Ha!

  8. Matt Says:

I come by everyday because I’m afraid of what I’d do without the comedy.

also a daily for me, and has been for quite some time. hooray for Yirmumah! hooray for DJ!

  10. DJ Says:

It’s mindblowing to me to have that many people reading. YOWZA. I feel like I need to do better now and that I’ve been coasting…. So the more people, the more I’ll put into it. I was inspired enough by this news, that I drew TWO strips today, both of which are avaliable in the club section… and they’re not skimpers like today’s strip!

  11. Ed Says:

Ya, I’ll bet a lot of people came thru boxcar comics. If you feel the need, advertise on other comics and break 20k. After that you can get your booze and hookers on a daily basis thru ads and whatnot.

  12. Anthony Says:

You should post prominently this link from Ucomics.com

and I’ll tell you why. I work at the Naval War College, and they block like crazy. Yirmumah and all it’s related URLs are promptly blocked with a nice “I want you” type Uncle Sam image and “You cannot access web address”. Reason? It’s cited as being “Tasteless/Gross”. I bet you’re proud. I was, although a little dissapointed. Luckily, I caught the Ucomic link and can access it to get my daily bread.

So I just think you should make it a permanent link somewhere, so we can continue to “stick it to the man”. (I can’t speak for every organization, this is my narrow view here where I work)

    =P

Next topic… I have a guess about your traffic numbers. Daily Grind. This was a phenomenon. I know you are very vocal over there, so it might have something to do with it, but I think most importantly this was link fest…. a vast majority of web comic fans of 50+ webcomics were suddenly linked over to all these other webcomics. Every author who joined the gind informed their fans.. they clicked over, and in turn discovered a bunch of other comics that they didn’t know existed. That $20 probably bought you thousands in advertising… just my opinion I could be wrong.

Blambot brought me on board, but then I forgot about it until a friend “re told” me about the site. Oh yeah, said I.

Nothing wrong with today’s strip. It wasn’t wacked-out or anything, but it was still funny. PG doesn’t always equal stupid.

  15. Anthony Says:

I just can’t shut up… well, in case you didn’t know this (I assume you do, but you never know)

You can go to Google and type this:

    link:http://www.yirmumah.net

and it will show you every page that links to you (at least that google has spidered)…

  16. Adam Black Says:

    Wow.

    Congrats, DJ!

  17. DJ Says:

Yeah, the Grind spiked our traffic back in Feb or when it started. Then in May we saw another leap with our Star Wars strips which got linked by a bunch of places… June Penny Arcade linked us, and that was good for a week or so for solid traffic boost…. but all summer it was around 3000-4000 uniques a day– then suddently it jumped to 13,000 on average… I’m thinking the Comics Sherpa thing DID help actually, because thats the newest thing I’ve done and havent had enough time yet to track the stats from that to see if it’s significant.. I think that might be it.

  18. Charlie Taylor Says:

Yeah, PA linking is what actually brought me on board, now I check it every day!

  19. M L Wood Says:

Several months ago there was a link from Slashdot to your Star Wars work. Between that and my arrival at the idea that I am supporting a fellow Pennsylvanian, I have been here once a day for the last 3 or 4 months.

  20. chadvavra Says:

It might have something to do with my breasts and the Today show…..

    sorry about that.

  21. mdpvrlwyff Says:

Hello! Good Site! Thanks you! xmzcqjwkexswl
