Yesterday’s PvP was excellent commentary about the WIZARD WORLD issue. — You know those guys who run or setup shows for Wiz, I hear are complete idiots. Story has it, they came into a meeting with the guys who run Emerald City con and pretty much demanded the location they were already in! SayWhat??? — Anyway, this has been much the talk of the comic book world. The world I don’t think much about anymore— (so wrapped within itself and getting ready for another implosion soon. especially as color printing costs rise.)
C’mon.. get a brain, Wizard! Half of one maybe??

Did you see the list of talent that is coming out to support Hero’s con after Wizards announcment of Atlanta? It’s staggering the ammount of A listers that are standing up and against Wizards deciding to do the Atlanta show the same weekend as Hero’s. It’s pretty damn cool.

I definitely tip my hat as well. That’s just playing dirty pool trying to squash a good thing out of existence for no reason. I mean, how much would it really hurt a con turnout to have more of them at more times/locales? Not at all. In fact, the more there are, the better, because it raises awareness and popularity thereof.

Yeah, I’m seriously considering boycotting all Wizard shows over this. And I love the idea of Wizard employees following Skull around and setting up wherever he tries to sell comics. “After the lemonade stand, they opened up a comic book store across the street from the store where I was doing a showing. I got onto the Web, but they’d already bought skullcomics.com. Finally it got so bad that I just had to eat them all.”

What Wiz doesn’t seem to get is that, by trying to screw Hero con, they are also screwing the talent that shows up. If they had just scheduled during a different time, they could have allowed the artists and personalities attending Hero to attend there as well thus expanding their sales and meeting new people.
By doing this, they have not only alienated the artists, they have taken a possible new source of extra income away AND boned the fans in GA that would have really liked to meet their fav artists who are going to be rightfully attending Hero instead.
Good job assholes…
