The Rapture!!!!
Oh man, I spit coffee out onto my keyboard just now while I was checking Boing Boing– I saw THIS picture:
It’s a picture of the Rapture happening just outside Dallas. The reason I spit my coffee out is, my wife’s grandmother has this hanging in the guest bedroom of their house.. FOR REAL. And to boot, I think it’s the original painting, not a print!!! I’ll have to check. Not sure how on earth I’d ask them .. hahaha… they already think I worship satan or something , apparently. This will freak my wife out when she see’s that it’s internet famous now. When I first saw this painting, I was helping them move something or other into the guest room and I stood for a sec and looked at this painting and said.. “what the faaaaaaaaa?” I got in close to see what it was painted with, because I’m a nerdy artist like that, and i think it was acrylics.. almost 100% positive.
Where else could that painting show up but Fayette-Nam, PA!? hah!

That is the exact same picture my grandmother showed me when I was about six. When she was try to “teach” me how great christianity was. She told me that is what i have to look forward to. Needless to say thiat and a multitude of other things have turned me off from that “religeon” forever.

I’ve seen that picture before but it was a reprint of it.
It was hanging up in a homeless shelter years ago.

Apparently the mom in that dead family wasn’t worthy. Maybe she poisoned them. Maybe she was sleeping with with the driver of the green car… the whore. Serves her right.
Also, you’d think that somebody, in one of the skyscrapers, in the entire city of Dallas would have made the cut… I mean, a bunch of people on the plane were leaping outst their bodies. Seriously, Dallas must have pissed this artist off.
Also, if fundamentalist Christians tend to believe that the souls of the righteous ascend to heaven upon death, why are they trapped in the ground at his return? Were they like, sitting in heaven, planning this to freak us out? “Dude, we all sneak down there during the night, hide in the graves, and burst out when I give the sign. Their gonna crap their pants when they see this. It’s gonna be righteous, yo!”
And now I’ve officially put too much thought into a totally cracked out fundamentalist painting.

How can I say this in a constructive, non-judgemental way. The rapture ISN’T GOING TO HAPPEN. It’s not founded in the Word of God AT ALL. It was first started from visions that a young girl saw, while she was in a demonic trance, and since that time, it has become church doctrine ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES. It says in God’s Word that the meek shall inherit the earth, so if His Believers are not here, how can they inherit the earth, which He made for them to begin with, when He DOES send His Son Jesus back here, and He DOES set up His Kingdom on this earth? It just doesn’t add up. To answer Mojomonkeyfish’s question about Christians being “trapped in the ground” when they die, the REAL truth is this: we are FIRST spirits, waaaaaaay before we were EVER on this earth. God created us FIRST as spirits in Heaven. This is why it says in God’s Word that God FOREKNEW us, meaning, He is the One who knew us FIRST, before our mothers or fathers ever did. I’m not a “fundamentalist” Believer in Jesus AT ALL, nor am I religious. I just know that God has shown me ALOT of things in both His Word, as well as experiences that I’ve had throughout my life thus far. And as far as “making the cut” goes, NONE of us are worthy of going to Heaven, because we are ALL born into sin, from the very time of our births. This goes for EVERY SINGLE PERSON, and anyone who accuses another person of “worshipping satan”, has NO business saying that, simply because they don’t know that person AT ALL. Surely not the way that God knows us, and God does know our hearts, and THAT is what He looks at, not whether or not we go to church, and put on our religious shows for Him every Sunday. Personally, I think it’s a tragedy how churches have become so pointless in what they do, simply because they want to please people more than they want to please God. And for ANY person that calls someone else a “whore” is as much a whore themselves, whether they know it or not, and not just in the sexual term and meaning of the word. Judge not, lest you be judged, for with the SAME judgement you use, it WILL be measured back to you. Just some stuff to think about and dwell upon.

I really hate debating religion. So, I won’t, but I do want to try and answer Mojomonkeyfish’s question. During the Rapture, all Christians are instantly taken to Heaven. No physical part of their bodies is left behind on Earth. At the time of the Rapture, according to the book of Revelations, the graves will also give up the bodies of the Christians that have died prior to the Rapture. What you’re seeing here in this painting is (supposed to be) these bodies leaving their graves, not the souls of those people that the bodies had once belong to. Because, again, no physical remains of any Christian is left on the Earth when the Rapture occurs.
I hope that makes some sense.
Now, I’m going to go back to my inking before some of you folks start throwing rocks at me.

GraphicArtist2k5, it is true that the actual word “Rapture” doesn’t appear in the Bible. However, the event is described in the book of Revelations, 1 Corinthians 15:51-55, and in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17.
I believe you are referring to Margaret Macdonald (a 15-year old Scottish girl from around the time of1830) when you mentioned “visions that a young girl saw”. As far as I can tell, Margaret Macdonald’s vision was of a post-tribulation event and not the Rapture itself.

I have a postcard of this. It came in a goofy evangelical book on UFOs and their relation to the Apocalypse. It was tucked in around the page that explained how the Universal Product Code was the Mark of the Beast.

Hmmm… killer floods, earthquakes, huricanes, tsunamis, war in the middle east, Gaza strip changes hands, Pope dies (not to mention Giligan AND Maxwell Smart), and they finally FINALLY made the Hitchhikers Guid to the Galaxy movie. If these aren’t signs of the apocalypse I don’t know what is. Except maybe the uprising of those d@mn dirty apes.

In response to GraphicArtist2k5’s post, the rapture will in fact happen, it just doesn’t say the word rapture in the bible. Read all of Revelations. It says that before the 7 years start, all the believers in God will be brought to Heaven, so that we don’t face the punishment that the rest of the world will suffer, then come the 3.5 years of prosperity, then the 3.5 year long Tribulation, in which the Wrath of God is meeted out on the world. after which Jesus comes down and casts Satan and the Beast (or anit-Christ) into a bottomless pit and locks the gate for 1000 years. But really, specualting on details won’t affect what’s really going to happen, so just make sure you’re right with God and follow His teachings and that of His Son, Jesus. The Word of God is law, no matter what you think about the details of the Second Coming of Christ.

2. Perhaps some mid-level alien management
3. Mafia (evil) aliens - runs day-to-day operations here and perhaps elsewhere (On planets where they approved evil.)
Terrestrial management:
4. Chinese/egyptians - this may be separated into the eastern and western worlds
5. Romans - they answer to the egyptians
6. Mafia - the real-world interface that constantly turns over generationally so as to reinforce the widely-held notion of mortality
7. Jews, corporation, women, politician - Evidence exisits to suggest mafia management over all these groups.

Many Muslims are being used like the Germans and Japanese of wwii::being used to hurt others and envoke condemnation upon their people.
I wish I could find a source to educate many Muslim fundamentalists. Muhammad is alive. He is a man chosen like Jesus Christ and, due to his historical status, will live forever.
They can affect the weather and Hurricane Katrina was accomplished for many reasons and involves many interests, as anything this historical is::
1. Take heat off Sheenhan/Iraq, protecting profitable war machine/private war contracts
2. Gentrification. New Orleans median home price of $84k is among the lowest in major American cities, certainly among desirable cities.
Our society gives clues to the system in place. We all have heard the saying “He has more money than god.” There is also an episode of the Simpsons where god meets Homer and says “I’m too old and rich for this.”
This is the system on earth because this is the system everywhere.
god is evil because of money.
I don’t want to suggest the upper eschelons are evil and good is the fringe.
But they have made it abundantly clear that doing business with evil won’t help people. They say only good would have the ear, since evil is struggling for survival, and therefore only they could help me.
The clues are there which companies are good and which are evil, but they conceal it very hard because it is so crucial.
I offer an example of historical proportions:::
People point to Walmart and cry “anti-union”.
Unions enable disfavored people to live satisfactorly without addressing their disfavor. This way their family’s problems are never resolved. Without the union they would have to accept the heirarchy, their own inferiority.
Unions serve to empower.
Yes, there are many implications here, from the 60s to civil rights (which got ugly thereafter), music, movements, etc.
Walmart is anti-union because they are good. They try to help people address and resolve their problems.
Media ridicule, lawsuits, creations to reinforce people’s belief that Walmart is evil.
Why is that important? Because there’s a cutoff date.
And that date may have been 2000.
Amercia is a country of castoffs, rejects. “Italy sent its criminals.” “Malcontents.”
Between the thrones, the klans and kindred, they “decided” who they didn’t want and acted, creating discontent and/or starvation.
The u.s. is full of disfavored rejects. As far as the Rockafellers, Waltons and Fords go, I suspect these aren’t their real names. I suspect they were chosen to go and head this new empire.
Jesus Christ is a religious figure of evil. These seperatist churches formed so they could still capture the rest of the white people, keeping them worshipping the wrong god.
And now they do it to people of color, latinos and Asians, after centuries of preying upon them. “Only disfavored Asians.”
Jews maim the body formed in the image of “god”, and inflicted circumsision upon all other white people. I believe Islam is the one true religion, and those misled christians who attack “god’s” most favored people will pay for it dearly one day.

According to the number code sequence as laid out in his Prophecy Code Book, it seems that the rapture if you want to call it that (I prefer the word resurrection), can’t happen for at least another 27 years. May I suggest you check out the website http://www.prophecycodebook.com which shows the Menorah’s pictogram. In his book Prophecy Code, Jeff Manty decodes the rapture using the number (2520) from the prophecy of the seventy ’sevens.’
He says the secret to understanding the return of Christ is to know that this number 2520 is a number of years as well as days. As proof he connects this number to the years of Israel’s reestablishment or the years 1897, 1948, and 1967 to the years 587, 536, and 517.
Manty uses the prophecy’s commencement as the key to unlocking the rapture. May I suggest you get a copy of his book you’ll love it…
