The last days of David Day…
So check it out, this week is last chronicled week of David Day’s journals, the original Hero By Night. His story leads right up to the book’s story which will begin running on the journal site there. There will be content running there all through into July, so keep checking that out. Also, later this week, I think before I leave for Wizard World LA, there’s a cool surprise for HBN fans online. Very cool. Keep your eyes peeled.
I mentioned before, I’ve come up with a pretty great system for putting out a comic online– it’s not been done the way I envision it, and I’m really excited about it. It’s a combination of many things working together in harmony and will deliver the ultimate fan experience. It’s I believe, quite simply, the future of comic books online. I’m going to talk to some folks while I’m out in L.A. about this, and I’d REALLY love to do it with Hero By Night first and foremost. Yeah, why not revolutionize the whole shebang? right?
The last time I talked about something in this way– I was touting something that would totally revolutionize things for comic book creators… it ended up being Comixpress, which indeed changed the name of the game for many independent comic creators. I can’t take credit for their hard work, but I was proud to put the bugs in the ears and get that going, encouraging it, cheer leading it… Look closely at any comixpress book and you’ll see Drew Price in the “house ad” - there’s a reason for that. Comixpress was an innovator because at the time, it was the only game in time for what they were doing. Now there’s competition in that market… but it REALLY leveled the playing field for many many creators.
Anyways.. I was VERY excited back then about that. I use to cheerlead it when I knew it was coming but I wasn’t allowed to announce it publicly or what it was…only that it was coming… and this is the first time I’ve been equally excited about something for creators, maybe MORE SO this time. This time though, it’s just me so far. It’s not really something that can be bought, traded or shared at this point, but i’m really working at not only making this work FOR ME, (which I know it will) but do so in a way that will allow several other creators from comic books to be able to come in, fill in their gaps, build their audience by telling great stories with quality art, and then MAKE MONEY. — Make MUCH more money than you can selling you own independent books at shows or through distributors. Just like Comixpress was a major evolution for independent comic book creators… this is the next step in the evolution. And it’s coming. I’m working on it. It’ll take time ,but it’s coming.

This is not fair. I look forward to my daily Hero fix and now you’re taking him away? I don’t think the comics are being distributed in the UK right now, so what the hell do I do until they are??

Dude! Keep reading! The entire story will run through July if you can’t get the books right away.
