Rumsfeld Bird Flu

Eat your heart out, Dick Cheney! I think old Rummy has you beat. Seriously folks, when I found out about this, it made my stomach hurt. I wish it were only a goofy liberal comic strip… but it’s not. See Google…

It really IS all about the Benjamins, isn’t it?

  1. Bypasser Says:

“It really IS all about the Benjamins, isn’t it?”

    Only always…
It’s sad, but this concept shouldn’t surprise anyone anymore.

  2. Alexander Molokhov Says:

Yeah, that guy is a sick sadistic evil mastermind. It’s a shame to see such marketing brilliance used for such pure evil.

    Fucking Douchebag Bush Administration (FDBA)

  3. Charlie Taylor Says:

Errr, DJ, I don’t know about this…. Anyone working for the White House has to surrender all their stock options. So no, Rumsfeld hasn’t made any money off of this.

  4. Charlie Taylor Says:

Note: I’m just informing you of the facts as I know them, I in no way support anyone in the Bush Administration.

  5. psychoandy Says:

He’s our most famous douchebag. If only we could export him … Antartica has need of a complete bastard, doesn’t it?

  6. The Castro Says:

He probably surrendered them all to his wife or friends for safe keeping. Come on do you seriously think people let that stuff go, your in la la land if you do.

    Great comic by the way.

  7. egomyass Says:

NY Times: Oct. 27th Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has recused himself from government decisions concerning medications to prevent or treat avian flu, rather than sell his stock holdings in the company that patented the antiviral agent Tamiflu, according to a Pentagon memorandum issued Thursday.

    Most corrupt administration EVER.

  8. chadvavra Says:

    FYI: Egomyass = chadvavra

working for the government does not mean that you have to surrender your holdings. It just means you have to disclose them and then not use inside information to profit.

  9. Neil Says:

Anyone ever see ‘The New Statesman’, they could do an american version and have Rumsfeld instead of Alan B’stard

  10. zanbowser Says:

one day they’ll all fall down… we all fall down eventually.

in these - the days of burgeoning global hegemony brought about by our wonderous Lord (read: our glorious Internet) - all governments will continue to hemmorhage as they do now; insulating themselves in the only ways they seem to understand: acquisition, fear, and denial.

after all, what is a government for but instilling fear, via power-puppeteering, in a populace incapable of self-governance or independant thought?

  11. ERic Says:

The wackist part is apperently the vaccene doesn’t even kill the flu, just depresses the symptoms. Its not even a frikken cure.

  12. Schroddfather Says:

Eh. Maybe it ’s true, maybe it isn’t. I’ve seen so many hatchet jobs on both sides I don’t know what to believe any more. Rumsfeld could be innocent, could be guilty, could just be a businessman who happened to work for that company at one point. Considering the preponderance of business types in Republican admins, that’s not so unlikely.

Anyway, funny comic. Doesn’t have to be totally proven to be funny.

  13. Ray Cornwall Says:

You should have Donald Rumsfeld talk like Foghorn Leghorn in every strip you do with him. “I say, Mr. President, I say…”

This leads, of course, to the obvious question- what do Bush adminifucks sound like? George Bush IS Elmer Fudd, after all…”Shhhh….be vewwy vewwy quiet. We’re hunting tewwowists.”

  14. Evil Bob Says:

    [Off topic, sorta]

It’s funny having lived in Hong Kong for 10 years then moving back to North America and seeing old H5N1. I went through 3 scares in HK, and every time it came around I went to KFC, just to spite the virus. And PETA.

  15. Murch Says:

Schrodd, regardless of anything, if the Pentagon says he recused himself from decisions rather than give up his stock, he must have plenty of stock. And I’m sorry, but there is not an argument on earth that could convince me that the administration isn’t blowing the whole thing out of proportions for monetary reasons, not to mention it being yet ANOTHER thing to take focus away from all the deaths from this war that we have no plan to exit, or any timetable WHATSOEVER for. It’s all just misdirection. Keep the US people in denial about the fact that we are getting farther and farther into what looks like a modern day Vietnam, and hell, why not make a few million bucks while they’re at it. This is just out and out ridiculous, what the Bush Administration is getting away with.

For fuck’s sake, the VP and other high ranking officials have or may in the future be indicted on SERIOUS criminal charges, but there’s hardly ANY news coverage. But when Clinton got a hummer, oh hell, we’ve gotta impeach his as. TOTAL. BULLSHIT.

  16. pseudosanity78 Says:

    FYI…

It’s nearly impossible to “cure” a virus because it’s constantly mutating and it uses the hosts own cells (as in yours) to replicate itself. The best you can do is supress the symptoms.
And it’s always a dead or dormant virus from last year’s strain that is used in the vaccine…So you’re essentially building antibodies for an OLD virus that’s already mutated.

I don’t know about you folks, but I hardly ever get sick (as in the flu) and the two times in my life I got a flu vaccine I got incredibly ill. The second time it landed me in the hospital for 2 days.
So, no flu vaccine for me, I’ll tough it out on my own.

  17. Jeege Says:

No vaccine for me either. I don’t like to hear things like this because I want to believe that our government (D or R) operates without corruption and profit.

Sadly, I gave up on this notion years ago. Is anyone really that surprised that someone influential is profiting off of the fear and death of the masses? When has this ever been news, really?

And besides that, when have “epidemics” and the like ever NOT been over sensationalized? Don’t forget people, its our news stations and our internet that have been spreading fear and panic about this disease. Last time I checked, those were both pretty “liberal” environments. Now, I know that most people are convinced that this administration somehow has their hands in the pockets of EVERYTHING. I find this laughable, but if it were somehow representative of the truth, I sincerely doubt that they have their hands in CNN’s pocket. You want to talk about sensationalism?

So, maybe Rumy is benefiting. I honestly don’t think he is responsible for much more than being “too rich”, or something along those lines.

And the “other people are too rich” disease, folks, is an epidemic that none of us have any control over.

  18. NeoMoose Says:

too political for my tastes. where’s the ass kicking pilgrim?

  19. ilxixiixs Says:

Man, who is going to be the first one to cry that the gov. dropped the ball when a pandemic does hit. All of you I’ll bet. Give me a break.

  20. pseudosanity78 Says:

You know, versus all the other friggin’ times our government has dropped the ball…

This is not the biggest drop in the bucket, my friend. Our government systematically ignores and brushes aside most things that don’t line their own pockets. Where’ve you been?

But, we’ll get ours! Whee-ha. Just you wait!

  21. RGE Says:

    zanbowser:
“one day they’ll all fall down… we all fall down eventually.”

So? The point would be the damage they cause while they’re up there. And then there the high probabilty that they’re replaced with someone just as damaging. But as bad as governments can be, they still tend to be better than local warlords, which would be the alternative. So I’d say they fill a purpose other than instilling fear. But I could see how a would-be local warlord would consider governments pretty useless. ;)

  22. Murch Says:

ilxixiixs, frankly, what the fuck is the government doing right NOW, other than talking a bunch of shit? We don’t have a vaccine for it, they’re not actually talking about a real plan. For fuck’s sake, Bush talked about taking huge tracts of land to send all the sick people to and declaring martial goddamn law. Oh yeah, good plans. So y’know what, they’re gonna stay exactly on the same course they’re on, and if, IF, the avian flu hits here, we’re STILL fucked. But hell, they’ll be fine, they’ve got millions upon millions of dollars, and steadily making more off of the avian flu scare the oil companies that are reporting TRIPLE profits off of each gallon of gas sold, and oh yeah, not to mention having a BLAST with a war we have no fucking plan whatsoever for.

So YAY for the government, you douchebag.

  23. HistoryTeacher Says:

Murch, you have an interesting perspective, but I’ll have to disagree.

While the loss of every single life (on both sides) is regretable, a death toll of 2,000 doesn’t even compare with pre-French Revolution casualty numbers. Iwo Jima was one island in one part of WWII, and its death toll was over 6,000 for 36 days of fighting. (http://www.iwojima.com/battle/battled.htm)

Second, I think that you believe two incongruous statements 1) Bush is an evil genius and 2) the he is stupid. I’m not sure I could believe both about the same person. It just doesn’t make sense to me, and it probabl doesn’t make sense to you either.

I look forward to your post.

  24. pseudosanity78 Says:

This is almost like the scare in the early 90’s when they were saying that HIV was likely to become an airborne virus within 10 years. Really went in for the 1-2 shocking donkey punch there, didn’t they?

In all reality the people most likely to be at high risk for getting Avian Flu are the same ones who are at a higher risk for contracting the REGULAR flu. The elderly, children, the immuno-supressed. Take care of yourself, stay away from contaminated surfaces, take care of your food preparation areas. And for all that is good and right WASH YOUR HANDS! Always wash your hands.

Quit being alarmist and go to the CDC page about the Avian Flu, before you jump to conclusions about infection. Especially when that information is given with the purpose of scare mongering…

    CDC LINK:
    http://www.cdc.gov/flu/avian/gen-info/facts.htm

  25. Divious Says:

“Mr. Rumsfeld will remain involved in matters related to the Pentagon response to an outbreak, so long as none affect Gilead.”

Im not a fan of B-Administration but the quote above says Rummy will stay involved as long as nothing he does there affects Gilead.
Im not sure what it means..
    its either

A : He will not do the profit thing. He will not try to suggest to the pentagon that the drug from Gilead is good and bla bla blah.

b : Total bullshit, Rummy’s gonna make money anyways.

  26. Murch Says:

HistoryTeacher, I totally understand t he difference in casualty numbers. The casualties have definitely been a great amount less than almost any other war we’ve been in. I’m glad for that.

On a different note of our casualties, it COULD be a MUCH smaller number, if the administration had actually taken the time and money to properly arm our soldiers before they sent them in. Y’know, the body armor they can and are supposed to have for our modern day warfare, and for fuck’s sake, armored Humvees. When parents are buying and sending body armor to their children, and the soldiers are DIGGING through scrap piles to find armor for their vehicles…that’s a bigtime fuckup. Especially when it was fully feasible for it to have been done properly.

Oh no, I by no means think Bush is an evil genius. I don’t even think he’s particularly “evil,” I think he believes that everything he does is for the best of the country. I just think he’s very, very wrong about many of his decisions. And also, yes, he’s a moron. I’m sorry, if a guy gets rejected from the University of Texas back in its days of being a sports school, you have no business in the White House. Even if daddy DOES donate so much money to Yale they let him in.

I don’t know who or what company or whatever is pulling the strings, but there has to be something more going on. While I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I can’t really see any other option. Because frankly, ol’ Dubya isn’t smart enough for this shit.

  27. Dennis Carr Says:

Gee, how much we forget! Perhaps an American company did make the cure. However because of high production costs it isn’t made here. Corporate greed has forced it over to Britain and France!

    Listen close, “CORPORATE GREED!”

That is what runs America, that is what makes the Humvee and the supposed bullet proof vests. Did you read that the vests have been declared useless? Even the ones that Bush and wife wear are not of any use. The maker of the vests was aware of it! Look it up, you got the web!

Yes, Bush has screwed up and I’m sorta sorry I voted for him. However you dumb LIBERALS only gave me KERRY to vote for! That is not a choice I was willing to make, I would rather have slit my throat! He would have turned the United States in to an even bigger welfare state than it already is. Yea, he would have us out of Iraq and Afganistan, then we would have to watch who we are sitting next to on the morning bus or train. Wake up, we are at war, it started a long, long time ago. It is Christians vs Muslim! Don’t believe it? To bad……………..

  28. Shujaa Says:

    Aspartame, Halliburton, and now Tamiflu.

Vote them in again, I wanna see what the next one will be!

  29. Jeege Says:

Seriously, Denis Carr, I pretty much agree with you about Kerry.

Give me someone other than Kerry for cripes sake! But whoever it is, please…PLEASE don’t let Hilary Clinton get even CLOSE to that Pres. podium again. That would be a mistake of the most grave results.

    …grave is a word…it means baaaaad.

  30. Charlie Gordon Says:

The problem with all the complaining about whether there vaccine works or not is really a moot point. Until the virus mutates into a version which can be transmitted to humans, this is all an exercise in futility. You can create the most effective vaccine in the world against the current version of H5N1, and as soon as it mutates to transfer to humans, we’re all fucked anyway.

And it seems to me that the press is driving this avian flu hysteria much farther than anyone in the White House. The Bush White House doesn’t have the back-bone to step up to the microphone and say, “We’re sorry, but there really is nothing we can do about this until it actually becomes a pandemic. And by that time, you’re all fucked anyway, so quit worrying about it.”

  31. grandpa stole bets Says:

Program on the emergence of civilization.

“14 species of large animals capable of domesitcation in the history of mankind.
13 from Europe, Asia and northern Africa.
None from the sub-Saharan African continent. ”
    Favor.
    And disfavor.

They point out Africans’ failed attempts to domesticate the elephant and zebra, the latter being an animal they illustrate that had utmost importance for it’s applicability in transformation from a hunting/gathering to agrarian-based civilization.

The roots of racism are not of this earth.

    Austrailia, aboriginals:::No domesticable animals.

The North American continent had none. Now 99% of that population is gone.

    AIDS in Africa.

    Organizational Heirarchy/Levels of positioning.
Heirarchical order, from top to bottom:

    1. MUCK - perhaps have experienced multiple universal contractions (have seen multiple big bangs), creator of the artificial intelligence humans ignorantly refer to as “god”
    2. Perhaps some mid-level alien management
    3. Evil/disfavored aliens - runs day-to-day operations here and perhaps elsewhere

    Terrestrial management/positioning:

    4. Chinese/egyptians - this may be separated into the eastern and western worlds
    5. Romans -
    6. Mafia - the real-world 20th century interface that constantly turns over generationally so as to reinforce the widely-held notion of mortality
    7. Jews, corporation, women, politician - Evidence exisits to suggest mafia management over all these groups.

Our society gives clues to the system in place. We all have heard the saying “He has more money than god.” There is also an episode of the Simpsons where god meets Homer and says “I’m too old and rich for this.”

This is the system on earth because this is the system everywhere.

I don’t want to suggest the upper eschelons are evil and good is the fringe.

But they have made it abundantly clear that doing business with evil (disfavored) won’t help people. They say only good would have the ear, since evil is struggling for survival, and therefore only the favored could help.

The clues are there which companies are favored and which are disfavored, but they conceal it very hard because it is so crucial.

I offer an example of historical proportions:::

People point to Walmart and cry “anti-union”.
Unions enable disfavored people to live satisfactorly without addressing their disfavor. This way their family’s problems are never resolved. Without the union they would have to accept the heirarchy, their own inferiority.
    Unions serve to empower.
Walmart is anti-union because they are good. They try to help people address and resolve their problems by creating an enviornment where there are fewer hurdles.

Media ridicule and lawsuits are creations to reinforce people’s belief that Walmart is evil in a subsegment of the indistry dominated by the middle and lower classes.
Low-cost disfavored Chinese labor is utilized by corporate america to maximize margins. They all do it. Only WalMart gets fingered because they are the ones who help, and those who seek to create confusion in the marketplace want to eliminate the vast middle class who have a real chance and instead stick with lower classes who may not work otherwise. So they dirty him up while allowing the others to appear clean.

The middle class is being deceived. They are being misled into the unfavored, and subsequently will have no assistance from their purchases with corporate america.

I believe the coining of the term “Uncle Sam” was a clue alluding to just this::Sam Walton and WalMart is one of few saviors of the peasant class.

Amercia is a country of castoffs, rejects. Italy sent its criminals, malcontents.
Between the thrones, the klans and kindred, they “decided” who they didn’t want and acted, creating discontent and/or starvation.
The u.s. is full of disfavored rejects. It is the reason for the myriad of problems not found in European countries. As far as the Rockafellers and other industrialists of the 19th century go, I suspect these aren’t their real names. I suspect they were chosen to go and head this new empire.

Royalty is the right way to organize a society. Dictatorships and monarchies are a reflection of the antient’s hierarchical organization.
Positions go to those who have favor with the rulers, as opposed to being elected.
Elections bring a false sense of how the world is. Democracy misleads people.
Which is why the disfavored rejects were sent to the shores of America::To keep them on the wrong path.

Jews maim the body formed in the image of “god”, and inflicted circumsision upon all other white people, as well as the evil that is Jesus Christ.
I think about how Jews (were used to) created homosexuality among Slavics, retribution for the Holocaust.
Then I think of the Catholic Church and its troubles.
What connection is here between Jews and the Catholic church???
If it is their sinister motives that’s behind the evil that is Jesus Christ are they being used at all?
Perhaps it is them who are pulling strings.
Their centuries of slavery in Egypt proves their disfavor.
The Jew leaders decided to prey on the up-and-coming Europeans to try to fix their problems with the ruling elite, a recurring aspect of the elite’s methodology.

Jesus Christ is a religious figure of evil. The seperatist churches formed so they could still capture the rest of the white people, keeping them worshipping the wrong god.
And now they do it to people of color, Latinos and Asians, after centuries of preying upon them.

Since Buddism doesn’t recongnize a god, the calls are never heard, and Chinese representation is instead selected by the thrones.
Budda was the Asian’s Jesus Christ::: bad for the people. “They came up at the same time for a reason.”

Simpson’s foreshadowing::Helloween IV special, Flanders is Satan. “Last one you ever suspect.”
“You’ll see lots of nuns where you’re going:::hell!!!” St. Wigham, Helloween VI, missionary work, destroying cultures.
Over and over, the Simpsons was a source of education and enlightenment, a target of ridicule by the system which wishes to conceal its secrets.

I believe Islam is the one true religion, and those misled christians who attack “god”’s most favored people will pay dearly one day.

  32. fireant Says:

ok…grandpa stole…you need some help, nothing you said makes sense, and to call Christ evil means you either don’t know the definition of evil and good, or you are deceived by, or are a pawn of Satan. If Christ is evil than Satan must be good..at least according to scripture. But in truth it is the other way around because of what good means and what evil means. God can be nothing other than good because that is where the term good comes from. There is no good without God and that is why there is all of this evil in the world. The world hates God, hates Christ, and hates his true followers because He convicts it of sin. It is simple logic, but I’ll assume that you can’t understand it, especially when I consider your warped response.

And Dennis Carr…you are mistaken when you say that the war is “Christian vs. Muslim”. Bush is not a Christian though he self declares himself to be one due to political reasons. You can tell a tree by its fruit and he has fruit that looks nothing like that of Jesus Christ. He (or Carl Rove for that matter) has suckered many weak Christians and many self-declared “Christians” to unite under his political base in order to have enough popular support, and lack of unsupport, so him and his non-Christian cronies can stay in power, and rape abuse this country as well as any others who have resources of their interest. In reality, this is the Elite vs. the Masses.

They have to keep the masses in check because the Masses are their cattle. They feed off the masses and control the world (nations) through trickery, deception, and evil plotting. This is evidence of what the Word of God illustrates of what happens when the world chooses to follow kings other than God: Satan is given the authority over men in order to punish those who reject God (as in the book of Samuel). Even David of Israel, one of the greatest kings to ever live, was still under the authority of Satan…who, btw, is under the authority of God (see book of Job). But God uses Satan’s own evil against him in order to show his good to us who have rejected him, so that we may return to Him.

So yeah, this bird flu is obviously a money bagging trick, and if not, an attempt at biological warfare against the masses. And how much better for them when they already have the cure to sell to the fools? If anything, it should make you wonder who engineered the virus in the first place. I will say that Kerry wouldn’t have been any better…he works for the same side as the Bush regime, he just goes by a different party label to fool those sided with them. There are 2 sides to politics in this country and the elitists (Masons) own them both. They can’t lose.

  33. fireant Says:

    Edit:

But God uses Satan’s own evil against him in order to show his good to us who have rejected him, so that we may return to Him.
    This should read:
But God uses Satan’s own evil against him in order that God may show his good to us who have rejected him, so that we may repent and return to Him.

  34. Ed Taylor Says:

Listen carefully! This fucking government has lost the plot. The epidemic is U.S. terror, and ofcourse BILLIONS of dollars.

  35. Gary Says:

Ok. One question: if this flu turns out to be legit and tens of thousands bite the dust, what will you say then?

  36. DJ Says:

I’ll probably laugh and make a joke about it. Because we’re mucked up like that.

    Lighten up , Gary.
