Comments on: SPX has no webcomic panels this year?

Nah, I didn’t book a table fast enough apparently, and I have other responsibilities. The plan was to come down for a day, but looks like that isn’t happening.

I know there are webcomic people THERE. But I thought there would at least be a panel ABOUT webcomics, maybe just encouraging new people to logon or show them alternatives to the print market and expanding their audience.

Next year. Maybe I’ll organize it and get some big minds of the webcomics world to go through a run down of the state of the webcomics union— Eric Burns would be perfect to do that sort of thing.

There’s no doubt that a lot of webcomic artists *attend* SPX, but DJ’s surprise comes from the fact that there at least two panels dedicated to online comics last year (one of which he was on). One was interesting, the other fairly pointless.

2006 will be the year of the online comic.

Actually, the Dumbrella Crew are going to SPX. That Includes Wigu, Scary-go-Round, and a Few others I cant think of right now. So there is Webcomic People there, a good number.

Sucks that there’s going to be no representation of the webcomic front there though.
