Spider-Man Comes Out

Spidey is out

OK! This is it, your LAST CHANCE to get in on the preorder issue five special! I also have to thank the folks who are picking up the book sets (issues 1-3) - There have been a lot of new readers just buying up everything and that is VERY cool. Thank you so much for supporting this madness. It’s very humbling. Anyone who wants to preorder today, go here.

I’ve had a lot of requests this week for commission type work too, for some reason. (did someone link me somewhere or something?) - IN fact, there have been three bands this week want me to do flyer type work or mini posters. It might be from some of the older work I did for a few other bands (the Dirty 30s, etc) I’m sorry to say that right now, I just lack the time to draw anything else besides Yirmumah (and one project I’ve been slowly doing on the side which I’ll announce here real soon) — I don’t know where the sudden interest to have me draw things came from, but I might try to push ahead and open up a few days and fill in commission type drawings, the best way to know when that would happen is to read this very blog every day! Summertime is just AWFUL busy around here.

Dang, I should have been using Google Desktop earlier. The little widgets and built in notepads and doodads are REALLY handy. I stayed up late last night installing a bunch of widgets to help my work performance here. I have a lot going on, and I keep losing the scrap pieces of papers for idea lists! Old School! Try it out for yourself:

Oh– and a few sponsor spots opened up for anyone wanting any– see below.

  1. Coyoty Says:

The increased interest might be from the Soul Patrol snowball. I think you had a lot to do with Hicks’ success, and others might think so too and want your Midas touch.

  2. Coyoty Says:

BTW, once Peter’s done coming to terms with his sexuality, he can fend off questions about “Mary Jane”.

“How long have you been a pot smoker?”
    “Wha–? I’m not!”
“You just said you’ve been living with ‘mary jane’ for years…”
    “That’s my wife’s name!”
    “…But you’re gay…”
    “AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! That’s it!”
“Ewww, he got sticky fluid all over me! Pervert!”

  3. Schroddfather Says:

See, all this time I thought the big “reveal” was going to include him whipping out the Spider-Unit that’s gotten nerdly Peter Parker all those hot ladies over the years.

  4. Darren Says:

Toby Maguire was supposed to be 15 in that movie? He was 27.

  5. The Castro Says:

He was suppossed to be 18, it was senior year. But who cares he looks like a baby and is only 5′4″ at the most. Hollywood actors and actresses are all tiny as hell.

  6. wookiedamokole Says:

They are ? Really. Though always look so much taller on TV.

I heard somewhere once that the best way to spin Tom Cruise into a frenzy is to use short jokes.

  7. pseudosanity78 Says:

The Maguire is 5′8. Cruise missle is 5′7.

Fortunately, most actresses are what is considered an average height (5′4-5′6), so it doesn’t really show up on film.

  8. Shawn M. Says:

Actors are short because it saves the studios money by not having to build sets that are so big.

And the best way to spin Tom Cruise into a frenzy is to talk bad about his boyfriend.

  9. Tom Brazelton Says:

What I don’t understand about actors is that they are very, very short but their head’s make up, like, 23% of their bodies!

Like John Travolta? HUGE melon on that guy!

  10. TlalocW Says:

Liam Neeson apparently caused some problems on Star Wars: Espisode 1 with his height. Sets were built only as high as the actors were tall with digital effects filling in the rest. Neeson being 6′5″ cost them extra money in construction, the damn tall bog-trogger.

I always felt that Spidey would be a complete tool and do whatever the government told him to do. Hell, if Captain America wasn’t that big of a sycophant in the 90s when the government wanted him to work for them again.

  11. neums Says:

Hey, he didn’t do it for the government. He did it basically because he felt it was the right thing to do, plus his idol said it’d be cool. Lord knows how, but I know somewhere along the line it’s going to come back to bite Spidey in the ass.
