Moving Fortresses…

Well, if all goes well, the next time I post, I should be doing so from the all new, FORTRESS OF YIRMUMAHTUDE. The official name of the new Yirmumah office, thanks to Skyeboy — The cable dude is suppose to hook everything up between 8am and noon I guess. Crossing fingers for a SMOOTH transition.

So, there’s no strip today— because honestly, contrary to popular belief, I am not super human. My MAIN priority work wise right now is Hero By Night. Not only the daily webcomic running, but also actually working on the BIG print book. If I wasn’t ALSO in the middle of a big move all month here, well, you’d of likely had your Yirmumah today.

Right now, everything is a clusterfuck and out of place, and it may take me a few days, maybe a week or so to get fully back on track in the Yirm department. I’m tempted to call off for the rest of this year , although Wiz has written some DANDY friggin Xmas themed strips I just HAVE to find time to do. You know that feeling when you move, “where there is stuff left, but you dont know what to do with, but you know you can’t throw it out because it belongs somewhere. A mini panic sets in, then a realization that you’d just like a giant bonfire to set you free of these material things… yeah, that’s the feeling I got right now.

I’m VERY tired right now, there hasn’t been much sleep at all, if any– but ironically, I’m the happiest I think I’ve ever been. No complaints from me. I fucking HATE missing a Yirmumah update after all this work here though. I always feel like I’m letting the readers down, let alone myself. I need to let that go and just roll with where this wave takes me. Hopefully you’ll all still be here or following along no matter if I draw once a day, three times a week or even just occasionally for the time being.

Also.. I find it odd…. that in the middle of a SERIOUS work week with both Jason Embury and I CRUNCHED for time in and out, he’s ahead on deadlines and I fell a little behind with some surprise things popping up that weren’t on my schedule– but, - we’re tooth and nail getting the webcomics together and ahead for HBN, and it might be some of the best looking stuff we’ve done. Go check out a new character I created called Doctor Nowhere. So much fun. Who knows, you might today, this very moment, be getting a first peak at another future legendary comic character…… ;)

Wow. The LAST night…

Right now, it feels like YIR- LIMBO in here– as I sit at this wobbly makeshift desk, just me and the computer, random junk lying around on the floor begging for a box to go in so it’s not left behind. These hallowed walls that were once our Yir-Tiki bar are no more… just bare…. white. Every now and then, you find some tape, a nail, even that gunky yellow handitak stuff in spots…. looking up to see the imprints where the Pearl Jam posters were and will never be again. The sound doesn’t even want to stay here…. it’s now echoing about as the clackity clacking of computer keys at 3am echo through the house, trying to find a way out, or a box to be put within.

So, here it is. A BIG chapter of Yirmumah history closing once again…. a new one just around the bend. See you there….

Man, there’s no need to feel ashamed. You’re finally at the point in your career where most of us webcomic creators dream of being. People who get angry because you missed an update don’t realize that they’re missing the point: you’re at the next level. Something new and bigger is on the horizon. Art & life are about one thing… growth. If the angry few decide to jump ship, it’s their loss.

You and me both, man. I’m trying to get all my things together for the move to to UK…getting ready for married life… and resigning from my job.

When it rains it pours, you know?

Your idol may be Kirby, but right now you’re looking a lot like the new Stan Lee, with a synergy much like the early House of Ideas. I expect to see great things from you, young man.

It’s a change…you’ve built this up and now you’re moving on. Your loyal fans understand..

…although I do understand the creepy vibe about the now-empty house.
