More On Paris Hilton Getting Out Of Jail

wtf ?I had thought for a fleeting moment that maybe things were right in the world, and that maybe the justice system would get it right and actually not give some snotty pop-culture icon preferential treatment, but POOF! I was wrong. You damn well know some money, some where changed hands to allow Paris Hilton to get out of the county jail.
My favorite part of the news coverage, which I tried desperately to avoid, was when there was some guy at a podium announcing her release at a news conference and a reporter right next to him said something to the effect of “Wait, she’s depressed? Or has mental issues? You mean like thousands of other inmates who have to do their time?” — Could you imagine if it were you or I trying to get moved to house arrest because we were depressed or saying we wished we were dead in county jail? Yeah, I’m sure they’d stop the presses and meet our every desire.
Yeah, no surprise here in the Yirmumah camp. It just crystalizes the fact that these sort of things go on, and it’s not just conspiracy theory. The only thing we can do is laugh at it.

Oh, come on! The rich and famous only make news when they go to jail, because it’s so rare. As someone once said, prisons aren’t for the wealthy.

ah seems the card was a fake, dj, she’s going back. lol! …..now i start to wonder if she didn’t have that card and tried to pass it to the officer……..even the judge from what i read, had a “wtf’ moment in understanding why that official let her out. i loved the comment from the official that let her out early , paraphrasing here, “we shouldn’t treat celebrities harsher than the average citizen…” wth…..since when do normal non-violent offenders get special treatment? when’s the last time you saw a celebrity trial and go “Man they are out to get them….” (excepting Marv Albert of course, poor guy can’t dress in drag and get beat by his S&M mistress in peace….)
