So, there’s a nice write up in the Sunday local paper here, The Herald Standard– the headline reads:

The “H” on the ring stood for “Hero,” at least that’s what Lt. David Day believed.

Wearing it made Day feel invulnerable, and in the still of night, he used its power to protect the innocent and punish the evil. He was Hero by Night.

And then one day, in 1955, Day just disappeared. His belongings, the ring included, were left behind in his apartment. They sat until 2006, when Jack King found them.

Now, the question is whether King, looking through Day’s journals for clues, will don the ring and pick up where Day left off…..

Wow. The Herald kicks butt. It’s a total trip to read someone else being excited about the project and writing it. It makes me feel like running over to the tiki bar and penciling out a complete issue, OLD SCHOOL LIKE!

Well, we have less than 24 hours now until I either get a call or an e-mail– maybe around 3am my time tomorrow. Even though everyone tells me I have this hands down, I know how things can roll– I’m doin like my father in law says “Don’t expect nothin and you won’t be dissappointed.”

But I won’t lie– I want this thing, dammit! Feets don’t fail me now!!!!

If I win this.. WOW. My wife and I are just going to go nuts for a couple of days and celebrate Tues and Wed– tiki gazebo party anyone??? I’m down!!!
