Well.. the news, uh, kinda broke at San Diego Comicon, but finally trickled out today…. click more to see the details….

So, Keenspot has offered me the gig to help head up Keen Syndicate and bring forth some of my ideas on the matter. What’s the “matter” — getting their comics page into more papers. This is something I have some experience in, and no, it’s no easy task at all. Other cartoonists have tried it to no avail. But I have faith that I can make this work. Why? One, I’ve done it. Two, Because I’m mother fucking DJ Coffman, god damn it! I demand …uh…. well… yeah….

You might be asking… if you did this all yourself in 2000.. why aren’t you still doing it??? Well, for one, I made absolutely ZERO money doing self syndicating, and all along I said, “MAN, if a solid group of cartoonists got together, they could take this shit over!” — and I was right. Well, now that time has come. You know, it won’t be “taking over” — but yeah…. THIS is a paying gig for me to do, and I can still maintain my family life and my own comic.

Anyway, no contracts have been signed, and nothing is OFFICIAL OFFICIAL, but I start full force in the fall, when my kids go back to school and I have actual work time in the day.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with YIRMUMAH at all. You won’t be seeing Yirmumah in it’s current form in any newspapers, that’s for sure!!! SPAK SPAK! — But there are some other cool things on the horizon that I’m not at liberty to say until the ink dries and all that crap.

It’s going to be a fun time, and I look forward to learning much more about the comics I’ll be representing, and to put some plans into motion that ONLY I can pull off. Believe that one.
