Wow, I actually grew up with that guy. Ryan and I were in art classes together, although he was always into drawing cartoony things, and I liked drawing them realistically. Last I heard he was traveling around the world. Denise even asked me about him the last time I saw her.

Well, at least you can rest easy knowing that whatever the movie is about isn't nearly as interesting as the comics they illegally used to promote it.

Ryan, if you can find a bootleg, pick it up. I'll send you money for it plus the shipping back to the states. i gotta see if they actually use anything in there. :D

Here's an interview with the director, bragging about using comics in the ads.
http://ia.rediff.com/movies/2007/may/31khan.htm

Q: The promos of the film include comic strips.

A: Yes, we had an idea of making the film look as if it's an adaptation of some comic strip. It is a light-hearted film with a comic feel to it. There are a lot of graphics in the film with every character in turning into a comic book figure.

Wait... does that mean maybe there are stolen comics in the film too? Oh lord, I hope I don't have to go watch it to find out.

I've sent the story to every newspaper in Mumbai. If your e-mails don't rattle them into some action, maybe the bad press will. And as far as Tom's comment goes, I'll be in Mexico soon, so I'll hunt down all the webcomic thefts there, too!

I don't know if you are familiar with the website rocktoons.com, but their artwork gets used all over the place. Apparently there's a company in Singapore that prints out everything, from poster to mouse-pads using their cartoons and there's little the owner can do.
