Looks like a bunch of people are sick of these commercials. Easy target, though. For another webcomic parody of this stuff (with a nerdier slant and by a comic with a lower laugh-to-strip ratio), check:

Haha! Awesome. I just saw these the other day.

Apparantly a lot of webcomic artists hate/like that commercial. www.ctrlaltdel-online.com and www.pvponline.com both did similar comics. Neither comic typically does commercial parodies, yet they’ve still chosen to do the same one.
By the way, DJ’s is the best one

“We speak each other’s language.”
Great, wonderful, good for you. Guess you’re not really an American computer then are you? Haven’t you heard? We’re not bilingual here short-stack. This is fucking AMERICA.
Question: Who uses a piece of fruit as their company logo? Seriously. If you’re not selling food, cut that shit out.

The Beatles?

Someone e-mailed me another PC & Mac comic, but I lost the URL.
Yeah, it’s not the most unique idea– but those commercials are taking over my television here. They’re on all the time. They must be REALLY wanting the Pittsburgh area to buy Macs or hate PC people.
May 17th, 2006 at 6:30 am
Yet again, I’m glad I watch as little TV as possible. I don’t need to be forcefed coolness, I’m f’n choking on it already!
May 17th, 2006 at 6:38 am
I can’t believe these commercials are still going around. I don’t watch much TV at all, but I still manage to somehow see 50 of these a day. And the “subtle” messages they try to plant are so frickin’ obvious it feels like they’re just sitting there and mocking me.
So thank you. Maybe Apple will finally realize their own stupidity and take these off the air. We can hope, anyway.

So the old guy represents a PC, and the young guy a Mac. What, metaphorically, does the gun represent, and what does the frustration translate to in the real world?
Or am I trying to carry it too far?

Kurtz posted one like this too.

Great comic. Really like the Emo reference

I try to keep a mental list of all the commercials that rip on old people so I can remember NOT to buy their product for my children when I get old.
As a young person, it shouldn’t piss me off. I guess since I am going to be old at some point in the future, it’s like they’re taking a crap on my career choice or something.
Commercials with old people rapping, however, are ALWAYS awesome!
“I’m M.C. Grandma and I’m here to say
I love my 30 GB Video iPod in a major way!

Serendipity - today’s PC Weenies has the same theme - with a different twist.
May 17th, 2006 at 9:59 am
I have not seen a single one of these ads. But based on the look, I expect one to start singing “I’m a little bit country” and the other to sing “I’m a little bit rock and roooooollllllllllll….” all Donnie and Marie style.
May 17th, 2006 at 10:29 am
I believe the PC guy is supposed to “look like” Bill Gates. Notice the glasses and god-awful hair.

Liked the parody(way better than PVP) i couldn’t find the relevent comic on cntrlaltdel-which by the way i’ve never seen before and now i know why-my aging brain when into spasm trying find something comprehensible or interesting there.I don’t really mind the mac commercial as i am protected by a layer of smug by being a mac user, but can i borrow the gun to use on the IT department at work ? You know you’re in luck when the guy on call is called “Andre the mental giant”
I also enjoyed zach’s post, a poignant illustration of why people appear to be more interested in masturbating to internet porn than actually having sex with some average looking schmuck who’s willing to put up with us.

Know this is off topic a bit for todays comic but it DOES relate directly to yesterdays!!
SOUL PATROL!!

I think Apple wanted the message to be blatantly obvious - since the iPod was released they’ve always gone directly for the 20-somethings demographic and it really has paid off. They wen’t from 1% to like 8% of the market in just a few years… sure, not a huge leap, but still progress.
The CTRL-ALT-DEL strip is lame. Who cares why Macs don’t have any viruses, the point is that they don’t.
May 23rd, 2006 at 11:59 am
Well, if everybody buys a Mac then they might start having viruses. Duh.

[…] Sorry Pookey, just add this one to the pile. By the way, you forgot to mention this one from DJ, this one from Today: The Comic and this one from PC Weenies. […]
