So, the whole CRAZY GRAY HAIRED GUY thing started back in February IN THIS THREAD, where I stated I was rooting for ” the weird soul white guy with the gray hair who is constantly cocking himself to one side and smiling like Ray Charles. He’s weird and I want him to take the whole damn thing.” — Now the crazy soul guy has this mini-army of online supporters known pretty much as the “Soul Patrol”. Notice he says that quite a bit on the show? I originally just wanted to root for something as a joke, maybe I was still jonesing after the rush of being a Steelers fan and winning a superbowl– and BAM– there he was, the freak of nature with a bowl full of soul.

Now Idol fans all over link the Crazy Gray Haired Guy strips, even run them on their own sites thanks to places like GRAYCHARLES.COM picking them up and running them. Especially the Drinking Game developed here…. It’s CRAZY. It’s so silly, it’s crazy.

Who knew we’d come this far, Crazy Gray Haired Guy?

Confession time…. I’ve never ever ever voted for American Idol. I’m pretty much against voting for anything on TV that they tell you “IT’S UP TO YOU, AMERICA!” — So, it’s even weirder that the one guy I picked out of the mass of hacks there is now in the final three. Even more, I’ve actually become a real fan of the guys music, because he DOES indeed have soul and he can sing. And he’s different– I mean, do we REALLY need another pop-princess? It’s been awhile since the world has seen a new Joe Cocker or Ray Charles, or even a white guy with SOUL for that matter. Taylor has all those things.

So what the heck, if you’re prone to voting, why not cast a vote for Crazy Gray Haired Guy tonight. Let’s help the Soul Patrol push him all the way to the front. If not for any other reason but to see his CRAZY GRAY HAIRED MUG all over the media, dancing around and acting crazy, like some crazy drunken uncle or cousin at the wedding reception.

GO GRAY! GO! — Hey, Don’t forget, you can STILL Play the TAYLOR HICKS DRINKING GAME. I won’t be voting, but I will be drinking.
