Going Soft

Brick!

Anyone catch the season opener of The SHIELD last night? Man, what a great show. Last year there were rumors this was the last season and that made me sad– but according to the Shield’s wikipedia, it’s been picked up for a 7th season as the last season. Who knew regular ol’ TV could be that good and gritty.

To my wife’s dismay, I turned back on the HBO because, why else, The Sopranos final season begins Sunday. Also, I miss Bill Maher on Friday Nights. I had canceled HBO last year after the canceled Deadwood and Lucky Louie, some of the BEST damn shows…. EFH HBO. But hey, Sopranos. And if you’re watching Sopranos on A&E, you’re missing out. It’s no fun without the real language and violence. Good news though, for some reason the cable company gave me a month free again, so that’s cool. I give them enough damn money with the cable/phone/internet all-in-one bill.

One day, my wife and I will leave all these material things behind and go live on an island. I will draw from life. Mostly beaches and the kind of trees that have cool roots that are exposed.

Want more laughs? Check out Wiz Rollin’s other strip which updates today as well. “There’s Always Porn”

Any comic book nerds in the house? Also, the best radio show about comics, Fanboy Radio, is now Fanboy Tv. Do check it out at http://fanboy.tv - Also, there’s a cool thing I’ve been watching for a few weeks called PULP SECRET as well.

See you back here Friday, for another round of Yirmumah.

  2. John Says:

Too soon for Helen Keller jokes, man.

    Heh, heh. Good funny.

  3. Adam Black Says:

    Oh, dear God.

  4. David Says:

Thanks for the Pulp Secret mention, guys. This week I’m beginning the process of giving away my comic book collection - right on the show. Check it out!

  5. Diane R. Says:

Quite obviously your new found ” sell-out” success may have furthered your wallet but certainly not your empathy . Once again - as always - you chronically insult and degrade not only women but the handicapable . Pathetic . Why anybody would even bother to support a male chauvinistic - hedonist is beyond me . Truly , you have no sense of respect towards women or the infirmed . Just revolting.

  6. Wiz Rollins Says:

To be fair… I wrote that.

I’m happily married, my wife loves all of my comics (including Yirmumah and There’s Always Porn), and I’ve got two young children (both girls, who’d of thunk it?). And I did I mention that one of them has retinoblastoma and had to have her eye surgically removed? She’s got a prosthetic eye now.

    Fuck empathy.

    But, mostly, fuck you.

    In the ass.

  7. pseudosanity78 Says:

    Dear Diane,
    “Handicapable”

    BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I was going to type something semi-intelligent here but find myself handi-incapable.

And did you happen to know the new craptacular politically correct term is ‘disabled’ and using any form of the term *handicapped* is extremely insulting…twat.

    But anyway…
    BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

  8. Calypso Says:

    Diane R.,
If you haven’t noticed by now, because you’re so consumed with nothing but bitterness, the brick is an equal opportunity bricker. I just think that someone needs a good deep dickin’!! Or brickin!!

  9. DJ Says:

    There! Two live females approve!

  10. pseudosanity78 Says:

If anything I thought maybe she was here to applaud you for finally ‘going soft’. yuk yuk.

And it doesn’t ‘happen all the time’ regardless of what you may have been told. :D

  11. John Says:

You know, I thought the comic was funny because it was so over-the-top that it was obviously a joke. I won’t tell people what shouldn’t offend them, though.

There’s no need for the comment thread to descend to *actual* insults. Being “politically incorrect” for the sake of hurting others is not something to be proud of. The comic was made for *fun*, folks.

  12. Primitive Screwhead Says:

Umm I thought Diane was Bob?
    Or maybe the dreaded Kurtz.

Either way “she” is a freak’n hilarious.

So Diane when do I get the pleasure of peeing into your cleavage?

  13. Wiz Rollins Says:

“So Diane when do I get the pleasure of peeing into your cleavage?” :)

Is that a “Preacher” reference, Prim?

  14. Primitive Screwhead Says:

    Sure is!!!!

    Jesus DeSade :)

  15. Joreal Says:

Preacher FTW! You gotta love the fist covered in chocolate… or IS it? _> Jesus deSade was definently my favorite psychopath in all of it. I’m proud to say that I own about 46 back issues of it and Hunters was one of the best.

Of course, THE best is and will always be “War in the Sun”. Nothing like SOAK kicking a tank in the side to bring out teh funnay.

And there’s nothing like braining Helen Keller to get the ball back rolling on in the interwebs community.

  16. Adam Black Says:

I think Diane’s right, DJ. You should do a few touchy-feely, make-everyone-happy sappy strips.

I’m gonna go pet kittens and watch some Veggie Tales now. Let me know when those strips are ready.

  17. Schroddfather Says:

Hey Diane, you seem to have a lot of time on your hands to bitch about DJ’s stuff. Instead of creating your own.

What comic do you do again? I’m sure I’ve never heard of it. Does it have a readership that’s hit triple digits? Do you print ashcan copies at the local Kinkos? Because DJ has a comic in stores right now.

  18. Scott Hinze Says:

Thanks for the mention, guys!! :)
