Dirty Bird

It might just be me… but I think Wiz was MADE to write Yirmumah. This could be the beginning of a bootyful relationship.
Wow, what a busy busy week for me. I’ve been behind on my e-mail for a spell, due to all the running around I’ve been doing with painting the new house, (upstairs is almost done!) I’m also behind on updating the old sponsor ads, which I’ll be doing soon. I don’t have an automated system for the bottom sponsor spots so I have to manually write it down, and I’ve lost track of exact dates on a few, so I’ll have to cross reference paypal payments and dates… and BLAH!, I don’t have time to do that right at the moment.
Also, I’m supposed to be a judge with the Webcomic idol thing that Bomb Shelter comics is doing. This reminds me that I have to go read through a bunch of strips and give my opinion. So many things to find time to do this week!
My #1 priority this week has been my deadlines with Hero By Night #1. The turkey holiday week here will sort of throw me off schedule a little on my other stuff, but it just means I’ll have to work harder and less sleep. I got some really groovy news regarding the HBN book, but I can’t say anything yet about it. Just that I’m very pleased. Yeah, yeah, call me a cheerleader you punks, but Platinum Studios indeed rocks. It makes me proud the way just by their actions of publishing they’ve pretty much stuffed a sock in the mouths of the people who were so critical before seeing anything. In my opinion, they’ve done in a matter of months, what no other webcomic collective could do for years, or maybe never thought of doing. It might be the story of the year in webcomics to me, not just me being involved, but a big publisher like Topcow publishing their hit books through Drunk Duck!? DAYYUMMN!!! But, in webcomic land, no one seems to be blabbing that much about it, but again, I think it’s one of the biggest things to happen for webcomics…. or at least in the “comic book/webcomic” marriage. I see it as really bring the two mediums together…. and hey… you just wait, It’s gonna get better.
All right, enough cheerleading.
Have a happy thanksgiving everyone!

[…] Dirty Bird! Hope you have a happy thanksgiving, US Bowlie types! __________________ And all should cry, Beware! carefull with that bird, don’t want the wife to wind up with Salmonila during if you deceide to give it your own special stuffing.
But so far, Wiz has got to be the most demented comic writer I’ve seen since Warren Ellis. Keep it up.
when’s he getting his own char anyway?

WOW. I haven’t actually “LOL”d really hard like that in a long ass time. You’re right. This new kid you hired is a natural, DJ. I really look forward to what this brings about.

Suddenly, “white meat” just took on a whole new meaning. Thanks, DJ, I needed that today!

Looks like someone’s “bird” needs basting. And there will be heavy use of the meat thermometer as well.

If the writer’s name wasn’t listed on this strip I’d swear it was you writing them. The Wiz is doing a great job.

If that causes Drama, we got trouble.
No one should get upset over old Hebrew fairy tales.

Wiz, Drew - these have been pitch-perfect so far. Good stuff, and I second the call for a Wiz character.
And although I’m sure you’ll get to using them (cuz they’re comic gold), I applaud that you’ve gotten the laughs without relying on the Drama Llama, The f*ck bunny, or way gay Drew. That’s earning Yirmumah laughs the old-fashioned way!

Thanks, Machete.
Actually you won’t see any of the Big Three (The Bunny, Gay Dave, or Llama) for a little while. There are definite plans for them to start appearing (the scripts are already written), but it’ll be a little while yet. I can’t say that I consciously was trying to avoid using them right off the bat. It just so happens that most of the early stuff focuses on Drew, Calypso, Bob (mmhm) and… me.
The Wiz character is indeed on the way.
But I don’t intend on featuring him any more then any of the other supporting characters. I think the strength of this thing is when you squeeze the funny out of the Drew and Calypso.

DJ, you should’ve seen that Mr Bean & Friends episode where one guy had his head stuck inside the turkey!
