Crikey!! Steve Irwin The Crocodile Hunter is DEAD!!!
Oh MAN! Apparently he was filming an underwater documentary and was struck through the chest by a Stingray Barb! LINK
That my friends, is just WAY MESSED UP. That guy gave us many years of entertainment. I can’t say I’m SHOCKED, because he was always poking around at cobras and poisonous things… but WOW. A stingray…. through the chest!?? I’m off to look that up on wikipedia….
I saw this comment somewhere else online:
“I don’t understand how a man who made his career dealing with giant crocodiles and poisonous snakes manages to get a stingray barb though his chest. A stingray is like a giant pancake of the sea. Fat women pet them on vacation.
Sad.”
“Pancake of the Sea” is my new favorite phrase or title now.

I was coming home from the movies tonight when a commercial came on the radio for the Virus Hunter, an Australian-sounding dude that advertises a local computer repair place. Whenever I hear that commercial, I think, “Isn’t parodying the Crocodile Hunter kind of passe at this point?”
Then I got home, sat down at the computer, and learned the Crocodile Hunter himself is passe.

I heard about it on the news this morning,
There is a limit as to how long good luck will hold, and his luck ran out just before he saw the stingray . . .

See, this is why professionals are trained to be paranoid even when it seems like they shouldn’t be. It’s why cops are paranoid even with a routine traffic stop. Because the one time you let your guard down is when the most insignificant seeming thing will get you at just the wrong time in just the wrong place.
Still… a (*&%ing stingray. Seems kinda wrong.

Steve had led an amazing life and accomplished everything he set out to do, bringing awareness to millions by making animal planet one of the most watched networks there is today…I call it sensitivity training for the masses.
Steve brought joy to us all, and will be deeply missed. He touched our lives, minds, and hearts. We will all miss his enthusiasm, his joy, and most of all, His Spirit.
God Bless you, Steve Irwin, may you be as blessed in the afterlife as you blessed others in this life…IT was a joy to have you here with us, your life was not in vain, you made your parents proud,
You were a Real Wildlife Warrior, just as they were.
Peace, Love, and all Good things,
Cora Lynn
My Daughter Loved you too.
