$17 bucks. That's a steal compared to the $25 bucks I shilled out at the Chicago Con last summer, and that's only for a ONE DAY PASS! DJ's right, the admission fees to these Cons are getting ri-god damn-diculous!!

Some 3-day passes are over $150 bucks, screw that noise!

DJ,

You ought to go to SPXPO - it's not that far from you and it's a pretty good vibe. Don't know how much people actually sell there but I always have a good time going and at least I buy a bagful of stuff every year.

Whatever East Coast cons you decide to go to... let me know.

I've got many beers and many ideas I want to slide your way.

DJ...

This Cloggies' opinion is that if people would charge that much to get in, people wouldn't come..

I'm a fan, you're never ever going to come anywhere close enough *near* me to even contemplate going.. let alone the fact that "comicons" are pretty much in unknown in europe to begin with.

if the bastards are charging that amount....sorry...given that credit cards are unusual in holland , I'd rather borrow my brothers' and get an actual 1st edition Real Art DJ Coffman print edition....

I don't need to *meet* you to appreciate what you do....

(not that if I win the lottery you'd be on the Callagher/Coffman/Poe/etc...... panel ;) but that's just daydreams...)

$17 USD seems steep to me. Every con I've attended in Canada has always had an entry fee of about $15-20 Canadian dollars. Plus renting tables is never cheap as Al pointed out. It's only affordable if you know you're going to sell tons of merchandise and make that rental fee back. And even then, a steep entrance fee for the fans means less money then can blow on spiffy Yirmumah merchandise...

$17 doesn’t seem too bad to me. If the price were more than that, like $25 or so, then, yeah, that would be way too much.

I’m more concerned about the prices of tables at conventions. A fellow comic book friend of mine has purchased a table for the New York Comic-Con and it cost him $700! Now, that seems very pricey.

Yet, the New York Comic-Con does look to be a big to-do. I’ll be attending that con, but I’m going for free ‘cuz of the convention’s Free Professional Pass.

$17 to get in the door?!? I've never been to a Convention but that sounds steep. Unless the booth rental is dirt cheap so the planners are thinking "lots of vendors=more willingness to buy tickets".

Brandon Carr says there's a convention coming to CT in June. Hopefully tix won't be that high.
