Behold, Superman Returns!

The new Superman Returns movie looks great by way of the trailers. I’m not too keen on this poster though, although I kind of dig the Alex Ross painting feel.
IN Yirmumahy news… Issue four is at the printers and I’m not sure when exactly I’ll get that back, but as soon as I do, all of your orders get shipped on out. I thank you all kindly for the preorders and making the books, I guess, a success. I’ll likely never do it differently.

Sorry, I don’t have a joke based on the poster. But I do have these questions:
Has everyone seen the trailer?
Is it just me, or is the trailer begging for right wing christian wing-nuts to protest the movie?
I mean, the voice-over really sells supes as being a Christ-like kind of guy.

I think this movie is gonna be great.
In fact, I think it might even turn out to better then Batman Begins (which I dry humped to a bloody pulp).

Superman has always been a Christ figure, but the first movie really emphasized it. The new movie will reemphasize it, but it may get hit with the fervor built up from other movies like “Passion of the Christ” and “DaVinci Code”.
If you look for Super-Christ symbolism elsewhere, you’ll see it in “Godspell”, and in “Smallville”, where Clark was “crucified” in the first episode. Getting back to the poster, he looks a little like he’s crucified there, too.
“Behold! My farts can lift my cape and fog up all of America!”
“Behold! I am a super conductor!”
“Behold! I can hold my breath longer than David Blaine!”
