Bailed Out

BAILED OUT

Yesterday was just a cruddy day. I wrote about it on the forum– link.

Whew! Looks like 2005 is coming to a swift close soon. Anyone have any highlights? Personal or otherwise, let’s hear em!

At least Drew wasn’t talking about railing his daughter again

Highlights of 2005? I found out that Yirmimah is alive and well on the web. Now if that ass-hat of a writer/artist will hurry up and get famous and then die, I’ll be able to sell my autographed copies of the ashcan comics for some big $$$.

2005 was a great year. Got a huge promotion and raise and have donated at least $40 to every webcomic I read. I encourage anyone else with a spare $40 to do the same. The guys and girls who create these comics do so with no real safety net and no reasonable expectation of making a living from it. What’s $40 to you? A dinner out. What’s $40 to DJ’s thousand readers? Nothing special. What’s DJ’s thousands of readers $40 to him? A salary, a car, rent and groceries. Have a great 2006 DJ, and keep grinding away.

Great year for me. Yirmumah is on my Links list making my day at work go just a bit faster. Wife and I brought a great daughter into the world (obviously a future Yirmumah reader), and successfully dealt with crappy contractors to finish my basement (no small feat)

Holy crap Eric…. that is a heck of a plug for people to donate to me! And it makes sense.

Dear god, if a 1000 people donated 40 bucks before the end of the year.. CHRIST! Is that possible?? Wow….

Thanks for the kind words, DJ and the awesome mention on the front page. I think that most people want to support their favorite web-comics but just don’t really think that their $20 will mean anything. There are also some people who don’t like a straight donation with paypal but who WILL cough up money for a shirt, or a book, or something like that. Personally I’d love to see some high-quality Yirmumah books when you get enough strips together. Oh, and since $20 of the $40 I donated to you went to Bob’s computer fund, I feel you got a bit gipped. By the time you check your paypal account you should see another little gift from Santa.

Give DJ money and something good will happen to you within twelve hours and 51 seconds.

Hey, it works with myspace bulletins.

Hmm, that offer didn’t work for me

Last time i donated money to him, the only thing that happened to me was that I got mugged

Joke was on the mugger though, DJ got my last $20 and the only other thing i had on me was a watch i got out a crane machine when i was 5

Kind of putting me off donating again, ive got a good watch now and i really dont want to get mugged again
