Looks great, DJ. Some awesome background/landscape drawings, and some really nice perspective work. I’ve already signed up at mailordercomics. Look at me… gushing like some sort of friggin’ FANBOY.

  2. DJ Says:

thanks bro. Hey, that mailordercomics place is pretty damn awesome. I’m glad I found it, and I’ll likely start buying more regular comics again… Im excited about that.

  3. BatsOfChaos Says:

This comic looks fantastic. I was planning on picking it up already, and now I can’t wait. I’m going to grab it from a shop, but I’ll be getting it as soon as it comes out. This will be the first comic book I’ve bought in five years that’s not a graphic novel compilation and I’m gonna pick up every single issue of Hero By Night published.

  4. Confetti Surprise Says:

Awesome work! Can’t wait to get a hard copy in my hands!

    Heh. I said “hard.”

On an unrelated note, have you listened to Pearl Jam’s cover of the Who’s Love, Reign O’er Me Yet? It’s Awesome! (It’ll also be on the “holiday” single for the fan club members!) It’s available here: http://www.theskyiscrape.com/

  5. OIK2 Says:

    Wow!

    Pure & simple ‘Wow!”

I have never been a comic book reader, always more of a daily strip reader, though I loved the characters in hero comics(I collected Marvel Cards as a kid, but never got a single comic) and you seem to have taken the thing I love about strips(the story, the timing, and the pace) and applied them to the things that are great about comic books(space, continuity, artwork, and action) while keeping from overusing the negatives I see of comic books(useless duologue to fill space, full page pictures every other page to fill space, and sub-par stories to fill shelf space).

This will be the first comic book I have gotten for myself ever, and I can’t wait for the whole set, and future comics you may have lurking in the sewers of your mind. :-)

    Keep up the great work!

    Mike

    SWEETNESS

  7. John Jett Says:

Good job on #1, my copy is ordered. You know what’s weird? I’m sort of more attached to the original HBN now that I’ve been reading the diary entries. The new guy’s got a lot to live up to and his book hasn’t even started yet.

  8. Greg Newcomb Says:

    DJ,

The preview blew me away! I knew HBN was going to rock, but…WOW! Can’t wait!

The comic looks fantastic. I have been enjoying the prequel and must say that the preview makes me want to but the hard copy. (hurr, I said “hard” too)

Any idea if it will be available in the UK?

  10. Adam Black Says:

Rockin’ stuff, as always, man. \m/

  11. Rod Says:

    DAMN! Consider it purchased!
